Can anyone help with a stereo code

Featured Replies

Anyone able to assist before I call a dealer and probably have to trek down there with documents?

Popped the std Symphony back in over the weekend, but it's requesting a code... and there's no key card in evidence.

Any assistance appreciated.

Thanks,

Steve

If there is no key card is there a sticky label inside the radio manual or the main servuce manual?

Mine (MY2006) has a key card and a sticky label inside the radio handbook.

Sticker on the inside cover of the radio manual?

I take it it's not "handshaking" with the ECU correctly? (i.e. switch the ignition on, then the radio, and it still asks for a code)

Hi Steve,

It is with some trepidation that I recount my tale, as I know you are generally very clued

up when it comes to Fabias. You probably already know this, but here goes anyway...

The other halfs car did this when I fitted her parrot kit.

I rang Progress Skoda (where we bought the SDI) and they were happy to give it to me

over the phone although they took a couple of hours to get back to me.

However, during that time it sorted itself out and when I went out to enter the code

it just switched on as normal... It just took a little while, that's all.

As far as I know the dealer can't tell you the code, they need to plug the car into the computer and the code then comes from Skoda HQ over the interweb. The dealer has no way of accessing directly. You're probably looking at paying £40 to get the code unfortunately.

There are auto electrical/audio people who can get the code from the radio around who will probably be cheaper.

hiya,iv'e just put my original 05 fabia radio back in.all i did was plug radio back in ,put the ignition onand then turned on the radio .after a few minutes lrn (learn)came on the screen ,all the radio stations i use were still programmed in !!bonus or what ,hope this is useful.

Just to update, I got a dealer to provide the code.

FYI, it can be done by providing the serial number of the radio and some info about the car (VIN plate should do it). So you don't need to be physically at the dealership, despite what some may tell you!

For some reason there was an issue with the initiation and there was no evidence in the handbook of a code or keycard.

Thanks for all the replies,

Steve.
