Revo Stage 1 remap

Featured Replies

Hi everyone,

I have recentely purchased a 2010 Vrs 200 bhp petrol. I was thinking about getting a Revo Stage 1 remap. Will this invalidate my warrenty? will they notice it if they plug it in at the main dealers? I have also been looking at an uprated anti roll bar does anyone know how much improvement this would give to handling and again would it get noticed in the workshop?

Thanks for your help

Phil.

Welcome to the forum

All remaps are detectable and if the dealership wanted to look, they would be able to see that the ECU had been modified with ease.

As for your warranty, it depends very much on the dealer but many are remap friendly these days. Technically your engine warranty could be voided although it's not always the case and not always so straight cut.

bens already answered the remap qustion. soill answer about the ARB.

as soon s they get the car on ramps you will immediately see that the arbs have been upgraded. pretty much all the aftermarket ARBs are very bright in colour so stand out when fitted, however if you get a black one it will still be noticable becasue the ARB buses will be a different colour.

now a rear arb can be fitted in haf hour. same for removal so yiou could chop an change, however what might be more up your alloy for blending in would be to change your front lower control arms for a set of TT lower control arms.

TT lower control arms are lighter than the vRS arms, and are also adjustable to allow an extra half degree of camber, which makes a massive increase in front end grip.

do a search on here for TT lower control arms and you'll find a few threads with part numbrs

Thanks for the quick reply's, I have noticed that there are loads of different people out there that will do an ECU remap and obviously they all claim to be the best. I've been thinking about getting the REVO remap, has anyone used it and are there any others that people would reccomend. I have found a tuning place near me that deal with the TFSI engine www.Backdraftmotorsport.com has anyone used them? are there any good or bad stories out there about them?

I'll be totally honest mate... from my experience I would avoid Revo, now whether it be their fault or the dealers I don't know but I had a bad experience and made the choice to go and see Ben @ Shark - Never looked back.

He is honest and up front about what the re-map will entail i.e. if the ECU needs to come out (mine didn't - however my Revo dealer told me it did have tuning protect).

Had the remap from Shark for about 2000 miles now and the difference is awesome! Go and see Ben :giggle:

Also at £449 it aint bad since a Revo dealer will charge you £499 + VAT!

Any got any info on the shark TSI map? graphs, figures etc?

I've yet to have mine on the dyno, but Ben quoted (correct me if I'm wrong here mate) 255 bhp and 300 lbs/ft or there abouts

All I can say is that it flys!! :D

It's from Tesco " Every little helps " emoticon-0140-rofl.gif

Not sure where in London you are..... I had mine mapped at AMD Technik at Lakeside Essex.

They have their own and Revo maps. I went for their map which includes an initial plus 2 after RR runs.

I am very impressed with the results power output which compares with the STS RR figures above.

Try the RAC for insurance they were very remap friendly!
