VRS vibration - noisy engine at 1500RPM...

Featured Replies

Guys

I noticed today that when the car revs from between 1500 and 2000 RPM the engine seems to get louder and then quieten off after about 2000RPM. Its not a bad engine noise if you know what I mean but its certainly noticeable.

It suggests to me that something is either vibrating with the engine at that speed or possibly something up with the engine. Its currently got the P0401 error (EGR flow) EML light on but I wouldnt think its related.

Any thoughts?

Incorrect EGR flow rate can cause rough running. If the EGR is stuck open, it will run like crap. May also be LH engine mounting.

Nice one - thanks for that! As per my other post - its turned off now and it seems to be better.

Can a faulty EGR effect MPG too?
