Octy 2 Alarm, Can a fly set it off

Featured Replies

We had the car alrm go off 3 times on the drive yesterday, I tried unlocking, relocking, starting & stopping & after the 3rd time had a real good look around & found a medium sized fly in the car. Having got rid of the fly all was fine but surely is that sufficent to set off the alarm.

I know its more sensative than many alarms we have had as it goes off when I back the zed out of the garage & back past it on the drive.

Yes they can.... at least you now know your car is safe from very small car thieves as well as the more traditional types in stripy jumpers and masks.

You mean Wasps :giggle:

spiders are good at it too, at least they eat the flies

Mine went off early last week, to prevent it from doing again in the middle of the night I pushed the button on the B-pillar and then locked it. MInd you, it hasn't done it since.

Thanks

Oh do bee have

IIRC you can get the sensitivity of the internal sensors turned down by a dealer.

Yes you can. Just had mine turned down from 100% to 60%, to try and cure false alarms. Seemed liike the dealer was well aware off this issue.

Well worth knowing

A few days ago the family and I went to the beach and after a minuto or so, after closing the car, the alarm went off.

Stopped it and went off again :wonder:

Open the door and their was a fly inside, so pressed the bottom on the drivers side B-pillar , the alarm never went off again B)

Test it, leave a window open and after locking leave about 30secs and start waving to see if it will trigger. Mine was broken before but was false alarming but the motion wasn't actually working.

Does anyone know how to reduce the sensitivity of the ultrasonic alarm sensor with vag-com.?

I know the dealers can do it with VAS
