Octavia ISO Connector question.

Featured Replies

Hi All,

Replaced all the speakers in the Octavia but still not happy so I've ordered a Kenwood W7027.

I know I'll have to swap the ignition and battery feeds over, Kenwoods looms usually have the facility to do that.

Do I need to disconnect the 12V aux/attena feed? I've heard this is used as a CAN Bus connection by Skoda.

I'm also trying to find somewhere who has an aerial amplifier in stock, do these greatly affect FM signal reception or just AM?

Cheers

Lee

just buy the vw adapter loom from halfords.. its the K line you need to be careful of as it can cuase damage to diag systems used by the dealer.

K-line isnt really used in most modern VAG vehicles, most diagnostic communication is done via can-bus its much quicker.

But yeah if in doubt like ffelan says buy the adapter.

Cheers Guys,

I'll just pull the pin, the Kenwood looms already provide the facility for swapping the power leads so I'm not paying Halfords

First post, but here goes...I removed my standard Skoda head unit with a jigsaw blade  (quite a thin blade) - worked a treat though so would recommend that!!

Another vote for the jigsaw blades.

Lee, if you listen to the radio at all, you will need to get the vw aerial amplifier because the aerial amp is built into the base of the antenna. The oem radio can power this, but your aftermarket system will not. You can get away without it in strong FM areas, but you wil get very poor or non existant MW/LW reception.

Lee you have PM. :D

HU Removal keys?

I used cable ties :D

A bit fiddly but no big deal.

vw/audi use 2 different keys. one is vertical slot and the other is horizontal slot. but in all honesty it is easier to use kenwood keys and fiddle around a bit
