Clutch / Hydrolycs problem on vRS

Featured Replies

I've not been on here in ages, it's changed a lot :)

For the last few months my vRS has been 'sticking' in gear (just 1st and reverse) when in traffic or at junctions. It's been looked at and had a master cylinder replaced, made no difference. I wondered if this is a common problem or if anyone had and ideas?

It's in the garage having a replacement turbo intercooler fitted so it's becoming a bit of a hassle but that said, it's clocked up nearly 160,000 miles in 4 years - I've owned it from new.

Cheers!

Mike

Good idea.

I forgot to say that it only does this sometimes, never for a mechanic!

When it did it in mine it was only in 1st at certain revs.... Was low revs about 1500rpm, to solve it rev it longer in first say 2.5k then change it doesnt do it or double clutch

Reset gear change cables adjustment. Gearbox oil change would also help. May also be clutch drag if there is any air in the hydraulics, or if the fluid is more than 2 years old.

Thanks for the ideas. I had the gearbox oil changed recently, made the changes a bit slicker but same old issue.

What is 'Reset gear change cables adjustment'? Sorry!

Thanks for the ideas :)
