Superb DX SatNav

Featured Replies

Thought I might take my old barrow (06/06 V6TDI Elegance) for a spin across the water next month. I enquired of my local stealer the cost of satnav discs for France / Belgium / Holland and was told £140 per country. When I picked myself up off the floor I said I only wanted the plastic disc, not the solid gold ones. They were not impressed. I looked on ebay and couldn't really find anything there - you have to wait until you are over the water before finding out if it works.........

Any suggestions (other than 'buy a map') welcome

You can buy them direct from Bosche but the price quoted is correct.

Not quite on topic, but the other day I tried to find out if it was possible to "store current location" on my DX SatNav. In other words, I just wanted to tell the thing to memorize the location that I was parked at so that I could find my way back to it in the future, but after about 10 minutes I failed dismally.

Anyone know if it's possible? Thanks

Do you have the DX Manual that came with the car? If so read up on the 'Flag' option, this allows you to store 'Flags' for common destinations..........

Thanks to both ... have now sorted it out and must admit that I'd never really noticed the "flag" button before. Works well.

I've bought CD's on Ebay for France, Benelux, Germany, Czech Republic, Alps and Italy and paid no more that £20 each, though they are not new of course and date from 2002 for France to 2008 for Italy. Ok, so some new roads may be missing, but the only time I find they are really needed is in towns and cities when you are trying to find your hotel, shopping centre, etc. On long jouneys, the estimated time of arrival and distance to destination are always welcome.
