insurance asked if I'm on an Internet forum

Featured Replies

When doing a quote few days ago. The online quote had a form that filled out, one of the question was 'are you on a car forum'

I wasn't sure what to put. Would this lower the insurance as it shows I'm a car enthuasist and look after my car.

Or would they think sterotypically and think I'm a McDonald's race car driver

some do lower your price if you are a member of a car club,

i know it works like that having a classic car.

ok thanks mate.

ive seen theres 3 insurance companys in the sub forum. As they are on the briskoda site, will they offer memebers special offers. I know Chris Knott do for saxperience ( my previous forum)

not been on here long my self so i wouldn't know , if your young go and try elephant .co.uk, and stick your mum on as a named driver it takes it down a bit

Give Chris Knott a call.

I have just renewed with them (which is a novelty being with the same broker for 2 years) and they are good with mods

They just want your username to see if you make posts like "I smoked a ..... (insert fast car)"

Depends who the insurance company was that were asking! If it's brokers like Chris Knott/Adrian Flux and the like - it's because they do offer discounts for car club members. But more mainstream firms might just be getting a bit more info from you...

And yes, it's worth getting in touch with the site sponsor insurance companies on here.
