55 Reg VRS Fuel Temperature Sensor

Featured Replies

Hi,

My Fabia started showing the Exhaust Gas Control System light on the dashboard on Tuesday. It's now in a local Garage and they're reporting that it's giving a P1163 code which refers to the Fuel Temp Sensor. So they've replaced the sensor and cleared the warning but it keeps re-appearing.

They've pretty much given up, any ideas?

Thanks

Chris.

Does it have an ebay resistor stylee tuning box on it perchance?

I changed my fuel temp sensor a couple of weeks back but it threw up the Engine man light not the exhaust light. ( unless the same thing?). Wonder if its the egr valve thats stuck

Regards Chris

The only non standard thing is the Green Cotton filter, apart from that it's perfectly standard.

I've not seen it since the fuel sensor, but apparently it's exactly the same... :o(

Hi Chris, I had this and it ended up being the coolant temp sensor :)

It's booked into the Dealer tomorrow so we'll hopefully see, just hoping it's not too pricey

More news as it happens

Update.. Apparently there's a break in the wire leading to the Fuel Temp Sensor so they're digging deep into the wiring harness to "fix" it. Just over a £100 for this.

Not happy :'(
