hi there my name is daryl i have a 2004 mk2 octavia tdi got it off my dad it was his old taxi done 180000 and the gearbox goes so i took it off him put a new box in it but i cant get the steering,abs,exhast management stay on amber,and the brake flashes red and when i clear the fauLts they come on as soon as i start it ive changed the e box ubder the bonnet and still they stay amber but ut still drives with full power can anyone help me i know i am new but i cant solve this and today i noticed when you turn off the engine and take out the key there is a buzzing noise coming from the abs module so i think that is what is draining the bat but i cant get those lights to go out

I'd have a really good look at all the connections. Make sure the connector pins are clean and they snap together firmly and lock properly. Modern electronics is usually pretty good, but connector technology is often the weak link. Ideally you want some proper aerosol switch cleaner, but meths will do if you find any obviously dirty pins or sockets.

cool will try that cheers will updae once i have done it but if any one else thinks they can help then please reply its been like this for a week and it is annoying me even the fuel gauge cant stay in the same place it jumps down to 0 then back up to were it should be

I haven't done much work to my Octavia but there is an earth strap on the gearbox on many cars, worth checking for this. With so many warning lights flashing I suspect an earthing problem.
