hot starting problem 1.9 tdi

ive got a 98 octy 1 estate and its running great,first thing in the morning it starts great "when cold" but when its hot its taking a lot more turns to get started...but it allways starts eventually.

ive replaced the temp sensor switch and its still the same but if i unplug the named sensor it starts great when its hot...

im clueless lol

i do know its an ahf engine...

any help on this would be great guys

Did you fit a genuine VAG CTS?

I work above a VAG specialist and they do the starter motor replacement thing quite commonly - I thought it sounded ridiculous when the guy told me what they do, he couldn't explain why it "fixed" the problem, just that it did! I subsequently learned about the 250rpm warm cranking fueling threshold :)

This is been discussed with the golf MK5 some fix the problem by fitting a new battery, something to do with crank speeds

Some also starter motor
