I remember ages ago that there was a thread on these but cant seem to find it.

I think I am in need of some new colis and am thinking of getting the Hitachi Bolt down ones.

IIRC in that thread it said that Audi used 2 diff makes? one was Hitachi and the other I cant remember. but I can remember that it said the Hitachi ones are the ones to get.

Lookin on ECS I have found these:

i know s3's have bolt down coils but im not sure the connectors on them are the same, might be worth a look in

also some tt's have them, im sure clive had the tt ones on his vrs. it maybe all the 225 engines that have them fitted but dont quote me

I've got bolt down coil packs, I stole them from Clive

I never noticed, until I started checking, that my no 3 coil pack was constantly popping up.

Plus they look nice

would you not feel if it kept popping out?

I didn't, no, but my no3 kept popping up.

The bolt downs don't feel like they are pushing on like the standard ones but once bolted down they seem fine.

Hi Billy there are the same two pics i beleive, and the MFG part number of both is the same, but ECS part number is different. This leads me to believe ECS has poor stock control???

Audi do make 2 for the 1.8T, one is the standard one like ours and the other is the bolt down Hitachi item

As the hitachi are standard Audi items TPS should stock them.

I had Hitachi coil packs on my motor. I bought them when everyone was stating coilpacks were always packing up. Since then i have only had one problem with a coil pack and sold my Hitachis.

However the best part of the hitachi coilpacks is they are bolted down, which stops the problem of lifting coilpacks(which is common on mapped cars)

I may get some of these from ECS.

I've just bought some of these ecs bolt down thingies. Not put them on yet, could be todays mod when I finish work. Dont want my coil packs moving and by the sounds of it I wouldn't really no. But I see it as if its sorted right it wont happwn and that can only be a good thing.

there are 2 different connectors some of them have a three pin connector but you need to make sure you get the four pin ones. Even 2nd hand off ebay they should work as they don't die like the push in ones.

Ijust fancied some as my car is not running as smooth as it should on tickover and when accel it is not as smooth neither. its got new plug in and I did the TB in Feb iirc. The ones in are the second lot as I swapped the originals. these have lasted 3+ years and 000 of miles. (over 84K now)

Ill ask at TPS when I order all my servicing stuff.

Just ordered my stuff and all together its £186 for all the oil fuel air pollen filters, gear box and engine oil, Fabia beam bushes and nuts n bolts, TB gaskets, New LCR Splitter and vRS front mats.

Not bothering with coilpacks yet. They dont seem to do the boltdown ones anymore as he said they have been superseeded by 06B 905 115R just short of £100 for all four.

What was that £180 for the mats and £6 for the rest of it

Lol the oil is £22.ish the rear bushes are 17ish each. The mats are 24 ish each so not too bad lol
