VCDS Lite

Can this activate cruise control with the freeware version?

You can change very little with the freeware version, you are almost limited to scanning for and clearing fault codes. The serious stuff needs the fully registered purchased version.

After doing some reading on here and on the web in general about how to use it ect i found the data logger ;-) so off i went for a quick drive logging the Nm, throttle postion and KPH. Once back home i sat down and watched the 5 min drive on my laptop well a few lines going up and down lol and the Nm max was 410Nm or 302ft-lb :-) just trying to work out how to check boost pressure now so i can see how acurate my boost gauge is best £7.90 ive ever spent.

How did you get yours working as I've tried the same kit (but from a different Ebay seller) and it passes the initial test OK, but will not read the fault codes?

I'm using the VCDS-lite from Ross' web site. I only want to read the DCT codes and clear them (have a faulty glow-plug and don't want to pay £50+ just to find out

which one and reset the code) and only want to change one as full set is £40!

can you activate the beep/chirp when locking/unlocking the car with the lite version?

Nope, you need the full version to change the codes/bits.

This link shows the differences in functions between VCDS and VCDS-Lite.
