EGR and manifold cleaning

Featured Replies

So guys,

with 307 000 kms, I changed the transmission kit in my Octavia and do some stuff...My mechanic called me right away after taking off EGR and the manifold and cleaning them, and the result was this but don't scare yourself:

It was never cleaned...manifold was completly closed with this and EGR in the manifold side was almost closed by this crap. The turbo geometry was OK but the rubber tubes that go from the EGR were all rotten and rapped.

Hope after this cleaning, new rubber tubes, (new MAF and new MAP coming) my Octavia Break reaches 210kmh on the clock again like good old times :)

did just the egr valve on SWMBO's passat and I thought that was bad but I think yours wins :D

Wow, that is a load of dirt.... I really need to take off my manifold and clean that, have done my EGR assembly twice now (169k miles). Think I need a catch can and a EGR blank off kit too.
