bump

I have a couple of quotes for the cambelt and waterpump part as mine is due very soon. My main skoda dealer quoted £450 and one of the site sponsors on here is going to be about £420 ish.

I just recently paid £230 ish for a full service including the brake fluid change at my main dealer. So I would say that price isn't too bad.

I had a quote from Allams and that was approx £790

Jewsons of Oxford just quoted me £450 all in for a cambelt kit plus labour and vat. They recommend changing the water pump only if there is signs of deterioration, if it needs to be changed they only charge for the price of the part and not labour.

If I said a local main VW dealer did the cam belt, tensioners, water-pump and coolant, oil service etc for under £450 am I a bad man?

That was about 6 months ago, but even so.
