vRS rear disc, same as Fabia front?

Featured Replies

On paper the vRS vented rear disc is dimensionally the same as some lower model Octavia and some Fabia fronts (256mm x 22mm). Can anyone confirm if they are the same? Poverty spec Fabia fronts are plenty cheaper than vRS rears

not the same mate the vrs rears are specific to this model part number 8N0 615 601 B, fabia fronts 6R0 615 301, although the sizing is the same there must be some sort of difference

are the rears not an entirely different shape in the centre due to fitting the handbrake mechanism or something on the inside?

Handbrake is on the caliper not int he disc.

But they are different offsets anyhow.

They are no doubt going to have different part numbers, but dimensionally (including height, which conventionally means offset) they are essentially identical: -

Fabia 1.9TDi front - Ø: 256 mm, Br. Disc Thickness: 22 mm, Height: 36,5 mm

vRS Octy rear - Ø: 256 mm, Br. Disc Thickness: 22 mm, Height: 36,7 mm,

I suspect the vent width is slightly different if anything, just wondered if anyone has looked at them side by side?

yes they do fit. the visable differance is that the vents are wider on the vrs disk, i trial fitted a fabia one on mine just to see, would not worry too much about the 0.002 differance in offset..
