Spare wheel assembly

Featured Replies

Hi,

I have recently bought a Superb 2.0 TDi 149bhp and am very happy with it.

However, on checking the spare wheel assembly I am missing the wrench to remove the nuts when changing the wheels...

Can anybody advise on where to pick one of these up or how much they might be ?

I am not even within a 2 hr drive of a skoda dealership so wondering if there were any other options.

Hope someone can point me in the right direction.

Cheers

Doc

Did the car come with a spare wheel or just the can of tyre foam?

I assume those that come wheel less don't have the tools to change a wheel either (IMO it's pointless to include them if you have no spare wheel to fit).

If you have a spare wheel then phone the dealers up explaining that yours is missing and ask them to post you one out due to you living so far away.

Finally if you insist on paying for one then search eBay for a wrench from any car in the VAG marque.

I bought the car privately and not from a dealer, so my fault for not checking in enough detail at time of sale. :(

It came with a complete full size spare wheel.

Oh well, I guess you're lucky as the spanner will be much cheaper than a spare wheel?

I think you'd be better off buying a 17mm wheel socket and 24" breaker bar from Halfords! The supplied wheel wrenches are next to useless after some of the garages have used airguns to put the wheels on.

agree, get a telescopic or four way wrench.
