Lowered and New Wheels

Featured Replies

Finally got the wheels and springs fitted. What do you think? Springs are Eibach and the wheels are BBS CK's in black with Hankook V-12 Tyres.

Looks good but need some closer up pictures :)

Looks very smart, I didnt realise the blue & black went so well together! :o

Good photo location too!

very nice

Looks gorgeous mate. I never thought that black wheels would look so good. Please post some more. ;)

Looks lovely.... from a distance ;)

More, and closer, pics please :D

Very interested in this as my first task when my vRS turns up is a set of 18" brilliant silver BBS CK (gorgeous looking wheel) and a trip to Skoda to fit the optional Eibach springs. What size CK's are they and are the Eibachs the ones Skoda supply I.e 20/25mm drop?

Looks good by the way!

Thanks for the great comments. I really wasnt sure if it would be liked or not. The springs are 2nd hand Skoda Eibachs from rob_e. I may change to KW streetcomforts eventually when I can justify spending 1k on suspension, but they are perfect for now. The wheels are the 8.5x18 with an offset of ET44. Perfect for the front, but I have added 15mm spacers to the back. Im also getting Rotiform to make me some custom centre caps with a blue BBS holigram logo to match the car.

Here is the only closer pic I have. I set the camera to allow more light to show the wheels off better. The location is just round the corner from work and the same place my old car was photo'd for Redline mag.

Look great. Did you order brilliant silver and then get them sprayed or are they reps? The BBS CK I'm looking at are 44 offset. Were the backs set quite far in which required spacers?

looks great alex

as you probably know i'm a fan of dark wheels - these really set the car off - offset plus the spacers mean the rears sit just right too.

Interestingly, the car sits much more LEVEL and also i think LOWER than when i had those springs on my car with FSDs - you're on stock dampers, right?

cheers

Rob

looks really impressive.

Its the kind of look that should be standard on a vRS to make it stand out from the normal Octy's

Privacy glass, Dark Wheeels, Lower and body coloured grille surround.

:D

They are the genuine BBS's that were silver then sent straight off to get done black. The backs without the spacers just didnt match the front for my liking. Way too far in.

Cheers Rob. It must have been your FSD's that made it sit a little off. I am still on the standard shocks. I think it handles very well for a standard shocked car and thats coming from the ibiza on R888's, V3 coilovers and rose jointed everything! Im going to put some uprated roll bars on next and maybe polybush the rear end.

Thanks for the info I shall be getting mine from here I think for my hatchback vRS http://www.rimstyle.com/products/detail/?category=alloy_wheels;type=bbs_ck_bs;manufacturer=bbs;model=106;id=BBSCKBS1880805112444410780. These have the same offset as yours at 44 so I may order some 15mm spacers unless it's only the estate that sits in to much. Just noticed yours are 8.5 x 18 and the ones I will be ordering are 8 x 18. Are you running 225 tyres?

Mine are 8.5's and im running 225/40/18's. I could go to 235, but the 225's look nicer on these. I cant seem to find the 8.5's on that site so it may be worth giving them a call as thats the width to go for!

What is the difference other than the obvious?

edit: Found some here as long as they are the same 44 offset as it doesn't say http://www.performancealloys.com/details.asp?procedure=wheel&id_wheels=%27BBS%20CK%27&id_wheels_manufacturers=%27BBS%27&id_wheels_sizes=%2718x8.5%27&price=%27219%27&permission=760163342

Looks ace. :)

Looks ace. :)

 doesn't need to go low to look good

Rang a few places today all of which told me the BBS CK is not available in 18 x 8.5 with a 5 x 112 fitment. The only one they said would fit is the 18 x 8 which is 5 x 112. Where did you get yours from Alex as I presume your vRS has the same 5 x 112 fitment?

:thumbup::thumbup::thumbup: YES!
The wheels are the 8.5x18 with an offset of ET44.

They are the genuine BBS's

Where did you get them Alex? BBS's catalogue doesn't list a PCD112 wheel in 8.5x18. Only 8x18 (which is an ET44). Model number of that wheel is CK 011. What's the model number of yours?

Quite right Nick. This is what I was told yesterday by different firms CK011 PCD 112 / 8x18 (et44).
