slipping clutch

Featured Replies

after having my fabia remapped last year to between 170 & 180 bhp the clutch slipped a little but learnt how to drive it accordingly BUT the inevitable has now happened & its finally on its way out.Sure this subject has been covered many times before but am struggling to find anything. What are the options, much preferably the cheapest, would a new standard clutch cope or would it probably slip aswell? Any help would be most appreciated, cheers.

hi mate i had mine remapped about 10k miles ago to 180bhp 300ft-lb and at first i was a little stupid and floored it in high gears on the motorway which did make it slip a little but i learnt very quickly never to do this just use 5th 6th for cruseing and since the first few slipping issues it hasnt done it since and thats inc 2 RR days and a trip to the nurburgring + a few laps all this on the std clutch that is now on 155k miles

But i know if i want more power it is going to need upgradeing most people seem to go for the sach clutch as thats a good start BUT if your wanting more then i think more money is going to have to be spent on a SMFL + clutch

Sachs serves me well for 250bhp and 400lbsft.

Mines the sintered paddle version but you can go for the organic if you want an option thats a bit easier for day to day driving.

This is the cheapest option if you are potentially looking to add more power in the future.

I have a used sachs organic plate and cover

just replaced it for a helix and smf....

will throw in a brand spanking new release bearing, was used at 195bhp and 300lb-ft torque for 40k motorway miles

will sell to you at half jabba price, PM me!!
