DAS-6 Polisher

Featured Replies

Recieved my DAS-6 Menzerna kit in the post today. Have given the bonnet a going over. Started with the Orange pad and power gloss then onto some Power finish again on an Orange pad and finally some final finish on the yellow pad.

The bonnet now looks like it did when it left the factory instead of the bonnet full of swirls as it left the show room :dull:

Then went over with SRP, EGP and a coat of collinite.

Haven't got any pics as i was doing it in the garage with only a single strip light so nothing would have shown up. There are still a couple of RDS's to get out but for a quick 30min going over im impressed.

Easy to use as well and a big thumbs up to CleanYourCar.co.uk for an excellent service.

Also bought a sample of the Iron Cut that Baker21 is always using - My god whatever you do dont smell it :S! I am yet to try it but will let you know how i get on!

I got the same kit from them some time ago, and its helping me keep the mongrels paint work (chipped, 9 years aged, mismatched in place) looking as fresh as I possibly can.

Good value i think and should keep my in good stead as i start on my way to setting up my own valeting/detailing sideline.

Unless you have a paint depth gauge, go easy on the Power Gloss. It has a cut value of about 9 out of 10.

Thanks - wasn't going that heavy on it - just from having a mate do the bonnet previously the Power Finish just didn't 'cut' it! Thats why i used the orange pad and not the white compound one.

I have been finding some limitations with it of late and it's so damm expensive but it does do a good job on some areas, as long as your working in a well ventilated areas you should be fine..........

What limitations do you find with it? I've only bought the sample bottle just to get rid of the odd black dot that wont shift with the wheel brightener.

Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't, if it's well ingained then sometimes you just have to resort to claying...................

Will let you know my findings! Got my old 54 plate Bora to give it a go on as there are loads of black spots on it.

I found that myself, but the areas that It doesn't work, seem to soften them to allow easier removal when claying.

Regarding the smell, I found that the old cloths I have used with It, even though they have been through the wash cycle a couple of times still smell eggy :S
