Clips inside door that hold wires

Featured Replies

Currently installing central locking retrofit kit. If I can I plan to put the wires inside the two clips that currently hold other wires, but I can't figure out how to open the clip. I tried pushing the plastic bit at the back from the bottom without success.

I'm guessing the answer is glaringly obvious and some kittens will die in the making of this post :)

Thanks in advance.

Easiest thing to do is disonnect the door harness from the vehicle in the rubber boot. You then have to release the top and bottom tags to pop the connector back into the car. The pull the door loom back through into the car also and connect back up. This means the wiring is still connected and you have an opening where the connector used to be allowing you to run wires into the door and it will still all be water tight.

The clips I refer to are those arrowed in red in picture below, was hoping they could somehow be unclipped and the new (heatshrinked) wires held by them. Alternative plan was cable ties :)

Oh I get ya..lol

TBH they usually break as ideally they need to be unclipped from the other side of the carrier.

yeah if you undo that metal plate you can push them out from the other side, had to change window's linkage on 2 door so far so been there done it
