Czech Republic: Floods may disrupt Skoda production

According to local press reports, citing a union source, production at Skoda Auto could be disrupted from 13 August because the Grupo Antolin Bohemia factory, which supplies roof systems to the OEM, was badly damaged by a flood over the weekend of 7-8 August.

Skoda is reported to be currently using stocks from Antolin's warehouses in Mlada Boleslav, but according to local daily, Mlada fronta Dnes, it is also trying to source some headliners from a factory in the Russian Federation.

Grupo Antolin makes roof systems for all of Skoda's models, except the Yeti, in the Czech Republic. It is also a supplier to Volkswagen, Audi and BMW cars.

Weekend rains are also reported to have disrupted operations at Denso and Benteler. Plants were not flooded but many workers were unable to attend work.

But when reading the article more closely it seems to me that the delay will only concern Fabia, Yeti and Superb sedan, not the estate, Am I right? Maybe someone with more english-speaking capabillities than myself can confirm this?

Looks to me that they are distinguishing between the type of vehicles in their range, not between the Superb hatch and estate:

"the Yeti

small SUV

, Roomster

small minivan

and Superb

mid-sized model

"

From the text I am assuming that all Superbs will be delayed, mine included. :(
