Thanks for the comments.

Taking full advantage of the fact my Mrs is at work this weekend!

Now, I need to sort that ridiculous wheel arch gap... looks like an off-roader... bring on the coilovers :D

nice job...

Any plans in the future for it?

Yeh, just got some subtle mods planned.

Gonna start with coilovers and ARB (hopefully pretty soon), then probably PD150 intake, a conservative remap, and finally some 17" alloys from elsewhere in the VAG range...

That looks really nice. Well done.

Looks great.

What do use on the exhaust to get it so clean? I can never seem to get it anywhere near that clean!

Cheers

I'm lucky that the last owner hadn't let it get too bad, so I just used a cloth and some AutoGlym Metal Polish - but I know from past experience it doesn't do much for heavy caked on muck.

Try some light wire wool (take care not to damage your paintwork and don't blame me if it makes a mess!). I used to have a special edition Focus which came from the factory with a chrome exhaust trim - I got that sparkling by taking it off and scrubbing it with one of my mum's Brillo pads for a few minutes, and then buffing it up with AG metal polish...

Thanks for that, will be attempting my first proper detail soon, and the exhaust is the one area I always feel let's mine down!

excellent work... pour yourself a beer emoticon-0148-yes.gif

Bettaware Oven Cleaner. paint it on leave twenty minutes wash off = Sparkling clean

It is designed to remove baken on carbon from domestic ovens, so carbon (soot) from a diesel Easy

You car looks very clean and shiny. Having said that, I wonder how long it will stay like that? :wonder: I know black cars like mine does not take long.

I agree with Kirk, I can never get my exhaust clean. I use a brillo type pad to scrub it, I've tried Brasso with no luck at all. I might buy some Autosol and give that ago. Thanks for the tip about oven cleaner, National, I'll have a go with that first, I'm sure there will be something like that under the sink.

Saw this over on DW. Very clean emoticon-0148-yes.gif
