Is it worth decating a fabia vrs

Featured Replies

Sounds sweet. What spec is your exhaust. If you dont mind me asking?

EDIT: Actually saved under my favorites for when my mates complain about diesels.

It's a custom straight through turbo back with de cat and no boxes! It's 2.25" pipe into a 6x3 oval which is getting changed after christmas if i still have the car as i need something bigger so looking at Octy VRS' and Superb's and both will remain standard as done with the modifying thing now after 8 modified cars

will remain standard as done with the modifying thing now after 8 modified cars

yeah.. Ok.

Nah 8 Modified cars is enough, i dread to think how much i've spent so the next car will be the family wagon, me and my mrs have decided to spend money on her comfort and make it the show car cos she doesn't wanna get rid anytime soon so i'll still have something to tinker with. And also got a wedding in 2 years to pay for so need to save like a mofo lol

My car makes a wastegate chatter noise if you dump the clutch at a certain amount of revs

That's strange as the Fabia does not have a wastegate, it uses veriable inlet vanes to control boost. Also as mantioned many times before a dump valve on a diesel is useless.

To answer a previous question about Cats and DPFs. They are two separate things (although can be combined). A Diesel Catalyst uses O2 (oxygen) in the exhaust gas stream to convert CO (carbon monoxide) to CO2 (carbon dioxide) and HC (hydrocarbons) to H2O (water) and CO2.

Diesel engine exhaust contains relatively high levels of particulate matter (soot), consisting in large part of elemental carbon. Catalytic converters cannot clean up elemental carbon, though they will remove up to 90% of the soluble organic fraction so particulates are cleaned up by a soot trap or diesel particulate filter (DPF). The above taken from Wikipedia - Catalytic converter - for Diesel engines

The Fabia vRS does not have a DPF only a Cat.

It's the un used air coming out as I have a bmc cda and a straight through exhaust so it has two outlets for it. I'll try and get a video one night along with a better video of my exhaust as we had not long moved to Dunfermline when that one was taken

If you press the clutch whilst building boost it chatters lime mad. Its awesome. I love it to bits, multistory car parks and tunnels make me smile.

That's one of the reasons I don't wanna get rid of my fabia. I love the chatter! No one expects it from a diesel lol

Defo de cat ive had mine on for a good year or so, with miltek system it sounds awsome not diesel like at all.

I found it did speed up throttle response and power kicks in earlier
