Cruise Control fitting (plea for a fitting service)

Featured Replies

just wondering if anyone on here is able to fit and enable me cruise control on my vRS? obviously this would be a paid favour but would like to not have to spend £200 if possible (too far to drive to northampton for it done for £160).

I can do it for 160 but in Worcester.

Awesome GTi would be a better bet wouldnt it?

Anyone in the north east as i dont fancy playing with the airbag????

Sorry for the hijack

Awesome charge £200 + VAT for it. but at the minute they seem like the next best option.

Mattie i would but i struggle massively with electrics! I can tackle anything mechanically but i'm just thick with electrics so better left to somebody who is confident in what they are doing!

Get a money-back guarantee - a friend had one fitted by someone on this forum, but they couldn't get it to work so it was taken off again. It was a late 04 pre-facelift one.

Just need to check what control unit is fitted. Two are OK and one doesnt support it. The later the car is the less likely it is that it will work.

But its a real easy check before you even start.

Thats a QG0 or QG1 control unit and good for cruise control

Thats a QG2, note the line of connectors is more central. That will not support cruise control.

Yeah, I'd be interested too...

No way I'd attempt it myself...

Thanks - hadn't seen that before - perhaps it should be made a sticky?

Vag-com/VCDS will identify the part number of the central electrics without removing the trim.
