SuperPro dog bone bush - better than the Powerflex one?

Featured Replies

Hi guys,

I have a question to ask......

I currently have the Powerflex bushes fitted to the large end of the dog bone and a SuperPro bush fitted on the end (small donut shaped one).....

SuperPro do 2 dog bone base bushes for the petrol engine (I’m only interested in this end)

Street

Racing

Does anyone have any experience with either of these? I'm particularly interested in the 'Racing' one and just wonder how it compares with the Powerflex bush.

Cheers,

I have had the Superpro front bush and rear 80 bush fitted to mine as i have fitted Superpro bushes all over to replace some knacked Powerflex ones.

Powerflex rear bush only - Needed a little more gas around 1200rpm and felt tight, maybe a small amount of vibration over standard once it settled down, but i did had the through bolt tightened all the way.

INA street density complete dogbone mount.A little harder than standard but no vibrations.

Superpro front and rear '80' - I fitted front bush and rear to a spare dogbone mount i had and this has been the best so far.Vibration has been somewhere between the Powerflex one and standard.I didn't tighten the through bolt as much this time compared with the Powerflex bush.

With your set up i would go for the '90' bush,as i can't see this giving to much vibration if you don't tighten main bolt. You can always slacken it off a little if to much vibration occurs.

I also have the solid front bush fitted,NOT just the inserts.

Cheers mate!!

I already have the front solid bush and that is good!

Just spoke to powerflex and their rear bush is 'only' 70 shore....... So I think I'll have to upgrade......

I just wonder whether superpro's 'racing' 90 shore will be too firm...

Decisions decisions.....

A mate has the racing (90) version fitted. The vibration was quite bad to start with but after 500 miles or so it was reduced to an acceptable level.

I would go with the street (80) version. It is a much better compromise for everyday use. Just like the racing version, it will take 500 miles to settle down.
