Another Newbie saying hi!

Featured Replies

Hello, I'm Dag from Norway. I have recently traded in my 2005 Passat 1.6 (also known as The Rolling Disaster) for a new Superb. What a difference in price and comfort!

I'm very pleased to have found this forum!

Thank you Mike. I have driven Passats since 1981 and have been very pleased with them except the last one which had lots of faults. I hope the Skoda will be more reliable :-)

A true VAG owner then?!

The new VAG cars are really spot on - so far so good with them :D

Are you planning on doing any bits to the motor?

Yes, you could say that. All VW cars except for a Volga and a Renault since 1974. And no, I hadn't planned on chip-tuning the thing, at least not as long as it is under warranty. Besides, I am an old man and drive slowly :-) . But should I be possessed by the speed demon, I have a friend who is a specialist chip tuner.

Hi Dag!! Get it done :D nothing wrong with a quick remap! :)

Nice to know you have had VW's for a good ol while :)

Hello there all.

I'm Liam from the west of Ireland, great country for a good Octavia 1.9tdi 4x4, if I could find one to buy second-hand! Well thats why I'm here, to find out about the Octavia 4x4 and the Scout 4x4. I want to know too what are you paying the extra money for, is it just the Haldex system or is there more to it, do you get stronger shocks, springs, link arms etc. I don't really care so much for the cosmetic thingys that come as part of the package, just the hardwear is what I want to find out about. I'm not very tech minded but I know a thing or two and am willing to learn from those better informed.

The thing I like about the Skoda Octavia 1.9 4x4 is the relative simplicity (in comparison to the Audi Allroad at least) the simple Haldex system and the height of the car, the higher the more practical for me. And the non-flashy design of the car.

So I hope to read some interesting fourms here. I'm still figuring out the site so that will take a while I suppose.

Thanks.

Liam.

Hey welcome to the forum: got some Swedish guys here but not seen any guys from Norway. Enjoy your time here!

Well, there may be nothing wrong with a remap but after driving the car from Norway to the south of France and back I really don't see any need to do so.

The 2.0 140 tdi has got power enough for the autobahn :-)
