!HELP water in my fuse box under bonnet

Featured Replies

hello people i have a 54 plate mk2 1.9tdi elegance octavia, i asked my friend to clean the engine bay and said to him i could get the special gunk foam for him to clean it, but he said he can clean it, i assumed he had proper engine bay cleaning stuff. when i came to pick up the car i noticed he had used a jet spray on the bay, he said he left car running while cleaning. so i drove the car that night to brum and back car was fine. woke up next morning pressed unlock on fob i could see all lights on dash flashing. started car most lights gone but asr light is on dash and if you take out key the car is still started, only way to cut off is stall or remove fuse from box, i have ordered new fuse box for tomoz so hopefully the auto lec garge can fix this, they said they dried old fuse box put it back but problem is still the same. after you stall the car to stop it running and try to start it again nothing happens apart from lights on dash, only way to start again is to remove fuse and plug back in. AAAARRRGGGHHH so do you guys reckon new fuse box will fix? also found out that early mk2 octavia doesnt have a water proof fuse box only 2005 on has waterproof fuse box, thats a kick in the nuts. thankyou

Mate he has killed your car big time! Using a jet wash on an engine bay is crazy, let alone leaving it running!!! God knows what else got trashed!

Possibly but lets hope its not shorted anything else out, fingers crossed for you. Don't let your "mate" near the car again!
