It is on the way

This is my first posting please excuse the mistakes. I have just contacted my dealer today and have been informed that my fabia is at emdem docks having floated downriver successfully, the car is a 1.2 tsi se 85bhp incandy white plus the function pack. At my age 65 i hope this will be ok for me as most off my driving is mostly on A &B roads pluse the odd dash down the motorway. My current car is a 2002 OCTAVIA LAURIN& KLEMENT 1.9TDI, my main concern is the downsizing but time will tell or it is back to the octavia range. Any advice or comments good or bad most wellcome.

Welcome!

I think you've made a good choice, with a good engine too. As far as size goes, the Fabia interior isn't actually that much smaller, and it's still very comfortable. Enjoy the new car :)

Many thanks will try to post photos when i get it.

Ive had mine (1.2 tsi elegance in white) since May. Its a great little car. Its got plenty of poke should you need it/want it.

You will love it, the Fabias actually more fun to drive than the Octavia

I think you wiil find you have lost very little interior space other than the boot, unless you've gone for the estate. They are quite spacious inside, the only downside I have found is the driver seat doesn't offer anything like as much support as the old octavia seat. The TSI engine is so quiet you will be amazed and the handling and ride are quite excellent.

A couple of my friends have "downsized" to the Fabia Mk2, both the hatch and the estate versions. Both of them have been more than happy over the last year or so that they have had them. And they would agree with Lemmon about the more fun to drive thing! Both are delighted with the economy too.

PS. Welcome to the site!

Interesting!! Im downsizing to a Fabia estate from an Octavia and space wise the boot is only 50 litres smaller. I see, another order in Candy white!! Apparently white is the new silver and looks better too.

But Im a red car man!!

Fabia Estate's boot is huge!

The thing I feel can be most improved in the current Fabia are the seats. They are comfortable, but need a bit more side support.

The car is good to drive though, much better front end than the mk1
