57 Plate - mk1 or a mk2?

Featured Replies

buying a 57 plate octavia next week but am unsure if its a mk1 or a mk2?

MK2

Unless it has previously been a taxi - then it's possible to be a MKI as well.

(the MKII was available from a 54 plate)

Yep, only exception is taxi stock. I've seen an 08-plate Mk1 as a taxi before!

But if you're buying, I fully expect it to be a Mk2. I'm a bit concerned though, that you've got to the stage of potentially buying a car without knowing that level of info (!!) :S

i know, but i was after a bigger car with good spec (elegance), but ive been looking for a few things and thought it was a mk2 but just making sure.

is it possible to add an AUX to the standard stereo on one of these aswell?

Get some pictures of it!

That is definately a pre FL Mk 2 car. I thought the Elegance spec had the aux input as standard but I could be wrong .

Since modellyear 2007 the aux socket should be standard. (was on mine, first registered november 2006)

Radio will be the Audience, as it says cd changer.

I've got an 09 plate mk1 & also a 54 plate mk2. Mk1 was bought from the taxi centre.

fantastic! nice one. thanks for your help.

A simple way to tell the differnce between a Mk1 & Mk2 is the MK1 has the side repeaters in the wings and on the MK2 they are locater in the door mirrors.
