FALKEN 452

Featured Replies

After my Conti 3's wore out i replaced them with Goodyear F1's which were cheaper but didn't like them so got some 452's from Camskill.

Now done about 1500 miles on them, initial impressions are good, good grip in dry, found out on the A1 yesterday that they go through standing water very well. I'd say that compared to the Conti's they are better in the wet, not quite as good in the dry. Seem to have low rolling resistance overall MPG not affected. Quiet on motorways on a par with the Conti's.

Probably took about 500 miles to scrub in were noisy and not as grippy at first but settled down nicely now.

Only thing i don't like is that rim protection is quite poor compared to other tyres i've used.

Overall it's a thumb up from meemoticon-0148-yes.gifemoticon-0148-yes.gif

Just got them fitted last week on the front and I'm impressed aswell

Had these fitted on my 2.2 astra sri and it didnt feel right although that was fully bushed and hard coilovers.

have them on the front of my vRS and feel confident with them.low road noise and generallygrippy, i have AVON ZZ3's on the rear and they feel great although softer compound(wear faster) but really grippy. think i will be replacing the 452s with the ZZ3's when the time comes. other wise i rate the 452's aswell.

Hate them. Side wall is too thin. Changed them as soon as I could as with the rough roads they had a habit of tearing the sidewall.

had these on my civic type-r,not very good at all imo, edges seem to where really fast and found them useless in the wet and damp.

I had some a while back, didn't find them comparable to similar priced tyres and wore badly, whether I had a bad set I don't know but as Countryboy also had problems with the sidewalls that might explain it.

Currently running Avon ZZ3 but also have found Pirelli Pzero Rossos to be really good on the vRS.

I went back to Pirelli Pzero Neros and not had a problem since. I went through 2 of these 452 in a month so had to change them.

How is it you ripped them mate ? Was it pot holes and stuff?

What size did you have ? It seems a popular tyre ????

I'm running these on my rears, can't complain at all. My fronts are down to 4mm so looking to change some Goodyear Optigrip for these.

I'd recommend them for the price though they are quite a soft compound.

Potholes just ripped the sidewalls. Utter pain.

Might be ok if you don't travel any roads with potholes.

I'll never put them on the car again, since I went back to the Nero's not had a problem.

Ok mate, worth the know

The pirelli neros are great, that what i got on the 20s 225/30/20

The falkens were gna b on the 19s as 215/35/19 and abit stretched

They were about £90 rather than the £160 £170 marker thats all :(

UPDATE...

changed these after 21,000 miles, overall satisfied with them, wore well, noise was minimal on long trips, good grip levels right down to the last 1.6mm, would have bought them again if they were still available and the price was right.

Replaced with the new Falken 453, not done many miles(approx 400 as of today) at the moment but initial impressions, more motorway noise and not as good in the wet, MPG not changed, will see how they get on once put some more miles on them.

OMG has it really been over 3 years?? I'm still running 452's, the original ones i posted about went to the rear where they still are while kuhmo ku39 or something went on the fronts which wore out in under 6 months and were replaced with 452's which are still on. Using separate summer and winter tyres really do make them last, unfortunately with a lil one on the way money's abit tight so no winters this year :(
