Bluetooth Issue

Featured Replies

Hi all,

I recently purchased the HTC Desire which updated to android 2.2. I’m having issues with the Bluetooth connecting with OEM hands free (Belero Head Unit) in my Skoda Yeti.

The phone has paired without a problem. When I drive off the phone sync’s within 30 seconds but after about a minute it drops the connection and won’t reconnect. I took the handset back to the suppler, who replaced it.

I’m getting the same performance from the second phone. Any idea’s what may be wrong will be appreciated.

Cheers

You may have to change the phones settings. It is likely it pairsinitially and comes up with a question on the screen asking if you want it to connect. If you don't answer it disconnects after a short time. There will be settings in the phone to make it connect automatically and stay connected without requesting permission.

Hi Ken,

Thanks for the reply. The phone has permission to reconnect. As this is a replacement phone, I was wondering it it could be at the Yeti end ?

Still ongoing with this issue. But noticed that if I deny access to the phonebook. The phone stays connected longer, then disconnects and reconnects. Any ideas guys?

Kitten and I are picking up our SM on 1st Sept so I will let you know how I get on with it and my iPhone 4

I have also bought a Garmin Nuvi 1490 satnav with Bluetooth and had paired my phone to it and it works fine......even using voice dial so if I cant get my iPhone to pair with the Bolero, I will use the satnav :giggle:

The iPhone 4 (at least mine) works flawlessly on phonebook, call history, making and taking calls and streaming music etc. Same with my previous iPhone 3G. The one issue is that when I play music it always starts at a low volume but that is hardly fatal.

I have read somewhere that there is a problem with the Android bluetooth in some handsets, but cannot for the life of me find it again. That is the one problem with having multiple companies build on the platform, there are variations between them that can cause excitements. i suggest googling the handset model and "bluetooth problem" and see if you can find anything.

That is good news indeed.

On the audio side, I take it you have to use the iphone direct to alter anything, and it only plays through the headunit , not controlled via the headunit.

That is correct- see various other posts decrying the non- availability of mdi, either factory fitted or aftermarket, on Yeti in the UK, though it is in other right hand drive markets such as Ireland.

It is a real pain and I've had to load an Sd card to mirror my iPhone.

On the audio side, yes it plays directly through the streaming function. Pausing, changing tracks etc you can only do on the iPhone. (Or if you can, little old me has not figured out how to do this yet).

However, on the PHONE side, you can use your voice control on the SM, and the controls on the wheel (assuming Elegance spec, sorry) to make, accept and end calls.

News Flash. Got the HTC Desire paired and up and running :)

excellent - and when it does work, its brilliant.

Just to add another to the list I use a Blackberry Curve with my Yeti. No problems. Haven't tried using Bluetooth to stream music from my iPod Touch. Seems easy enough to use the jack point in the centre console.
