What's it worth?

She's got a VX Tigra.

Yes I'd only be selling the VRS to free up money to get her something.

Yes I'm only doing it because I hate driving her Tigra. She think we should just stick with what we've got and I drive the Tigra everyday. I think I'd jump off a bridge after a few months.

Yes I fully accept that my hatred of her car, which I call 'The Skip' because it's open top, leaks and is full of rubbish, is irrational. But the thought of having to drive it for the next six months until she goes back to work makes me feel genuinely quite sick. It's uncomfortable and smells of damp, p\ss poor visibility no power, crap mpg and the driving dynamics of a shopping trolly. Sounds like a can of coke when you shut the doors.

I've had the VRS for 3yr now so it wouldn't kill me to sell it and change but it is the best car I've ever had and the only one I've ever had since new.

But if it's the only car we can move baby around in it is starting to get expensive on fuel.

I've spotted a 54 plate E60 525d with 98k on the clock for £7k. I quite like that but it'll need blanking plates for the swirl flap and a dpf removal factored in. Plus all the other risks of something going pop at that mileage but plenty seem to last well above that. she's still have to give in and punt the Tigra.

I think I'll just be buying winter cycling gear :wonder:

I justed looked at an 07 vrs plate today with 40k on at a main stealers, unsure if deisel or petrol and that was 11k and it wasnt as tidy as my 52 plate vrs....At 11k i thought it was a tad expensive

She can't be THAT much in love with a Vauxhall - any Vauxhall. Your best bet is to keep the Octavia and persuade SWMBO to take a test-drive in an MX-5 of whatever vintage you can afford. She'll love it - and you'll get to drive it most of the time while she takes Junior in he vRS.

Park near a cliff. Leave said Tigra out of gear, and forget to apply the handbrake.

We have a river opposite the house down a steep bank, it has been considered.

A fireman I know also told me how to burn it without getting caught.

I think she'd get more for it as an ins write off than a trade in. From bumper is held together with duct tape after she clobbered a big rabbit / hare but refused to claim off her insurance.

I'm often tempted to forget to top up the oil, the damn thing goes through gallons. I'm starting to think it's actually a two stroke.
