Hey i am currently driving a 3 year old Skoda Octavia 1.6 55kw and iw as wondering how long it will last it currently has abt 110000km on the odometer

There are plenty of Octavia turbo diesels for sale on Ebay that have done over 150,000 miles that seem to have plenty of life left in them.

I don't intend to change mine before 100,000 miles.

VAG engines are good for bloody miles I recall one dealer saying the 1.8T doesn't fully run in until about 60K!!

We have a fully serviced 1.9 TDi Taxi that comes in with over 200,000 miles on it.

There's a W reg Octy SDi Taxi in Hartlepool...must have mega-miles on it.

Not an Octy granted, but my boss who did airport runs all over the country, but mainly Manchester, back in the mid 80's, finally sold his Renault 25 with 500,000 miles on the clock...and it was a 2.0 litre petrol model! :eek:

Bodywork was excellent too.

Serviced on the button every time, and only major breakdown IIRC was the clutch and alternator. Pretty damned good...especially as it was a Renault.

A Skoda serviced and looked after properly should exceed that easily I'd have thought.
