going LED?

Featured Replies

Afternoon, I am looking at going LED and using the std lights.

First I can't find an LED replacemint for the fog and tail. No matter tho as its either on or off.

The main ones I want to do are indicators all round and the brake lights. The brake lights are simple but again indicators are not.

Does anyone know what is needed?

I can get the front and rear bulbs np but sied repeaters are not so easy, also will it need a new relay?

While I am at it I thought it time to swap my original headlight bulbs too to some phillips Xtreams and the fogs to Osram night. Side lights will be LED too. White.

Cheers

Billy

I have something at home that may help you. Will post some pictures tonight.:giggle:

Don't think there are any replacement leds which are legal

Right back to this, I don't think ill bother with them as it seems too much hassle.

What I am now thinkin is HID,s?

Now I know its not really good to just put Hid in the std lights due to the mirrors, so is it pos to just get the octy xenon light lenses/case and just put the HID kit in it? Or will it still need everything else that goes wi the xenon lights?

Ideally you'd want the OEM xenon light casings, the 5 litre washer bottle, washer jets and hoses, and an afterkarket kit of bulbs and ballasts. Fit the kit in the xenon casings, wire the level controls up to your cabin leveller switch, fit the washer bottle, jets etc to the bumper and you'd be good to go.

However, the cheapest I could find a set of OEM xenon casings last time I looked was £500 and those were designed for a LHD car!

or just fit a HID bixenon kit and angle them down, they fit perfectly....and work without glare...i know i have them!

If I'm honest, the standard fit Octy xenon units aren't as good as the more recent technology anyway, although I haven't had experience of mk1 halogen lights as a basis for comparison. I'd suggest just getting some good quality halogen bulbs.
