Hi All

Just got a 6 month old Octavia VRS CR170.

Got rid of a 4 and a bit year old Jaguar X type diesel - what a pile of cr4p - only had it for 8 months and had to replace some of the suspension front and rear, alloys and tyres(full set), brake discs and pads (full set) and it got an average of around 33mpg. The only good points were it was a good looking car and was very nice to drive.

The last straw was the dual mass flywheel started to slip (£1200 to fix) - with only 38000 miles on the car.

I am pleased with the Octy so far - averaging about 45mpg, and at least as nice to drive as the Jag although very slightly more road noise - I will be changing to Falken tyres when they need changed.

The car is mostly for my wife to drive but I will be using it frequently.

This is our first Skoda and so far it seems to be a good choice.

All the best.

Dave
