Yeti Going Today

Featured Replies

I find it hard to believe that this person ever owned a Yeti, after reading all the garbage that he has written on this site. I'm afraid that I share similar suspicions to other posters, and as for the What Car site then how can they let one person post two reviews on different cars, don't the moderators have eyes. He also goes against all reviews re build quality etc that every European car mag has ever written about the Yeti. Obviously this person has some perverse outlook on life and enjoys seeing his fantasies in print.

Let's bombard the what car website with our reviews which may be a bit biased but they will be truthful, decent and honest.

I've just submitted my review. Balanced and honest but with an overall verdict of five stars representative of how I feel about my car. For the money I can think of nothing to touch my Yeti 1.2 S.

Apologies for the last blank post, all this Technology gives me a sore head.

Overall, the thing which disappointed me from the What Car Reader review was that SP2 listed two reviews with 2 stars. I think one would have done. The Second review sounds like it was on a loan car he was given whilst the original was off the road. SP2 has decided he doesnt like the car, which is fair enough, but twice?

I spent a lot of time looking through the Readers Review, both on What Car and Parkers as I dont think Motoring Journalists can always be objective. How much have we read in the press about how wonderful VW cars are, yet I had a Passat which was the worst car pound for pound I ever owned. My current car is a Ford Focus CMax, which had been a really reliable car and I'm hoping that my new SM will be the same, yet Ford have a relatively image than VW.

If Skoda did produce 1 dud, then they need to take it on the chin, admit they got it wrong and then get back to doing what the seem to be very good at: building really good reliable cars.

I would encourage all car owners to log their opinions, both on What Car and Parkers websites, I truly believe this is really useful information, both good and bad, for prospective buyers. I hope SP2 is happy with the new Scooby, will we see two reviews of that?

Lets try and help our fellow car drivers and not take out our frustrations

I think most are missing the point a little here.

(from memory of the whole event - as I can't be bothered to read it all again)

The OP changed his Subaru for a Yeti thinking it was going to be a better car, now he was obviously impressed with the Subaru (as he has ordered another) and his yeti was clearly a duff car - they DO happen in the real world, not every car coming off the production line will be perfect, some even get damaged in transit (which the new owner will probably never know about) making it even more of a lemon.

Maybe his expectations were just too high for the car? who knows but the way some of you are going on it's as if these problems could never happen on a new car ...... next you will be saying that non of the VAG range suffer with water ingress :giggle:.

Who cares if he didn't like the car? one bad report will not put off any normal person as they will go and drive a demonstrator for themselves before making their minds up.

I test drove a Roomster Yeti and thought it was awful, does that make it a bad car? NO, there are loads on here that love theirs.

(I only drove it to try the CR140 engine).

With the utmost of respect, the real point is that it is very hard to believe that he (they?) ever owned a Yeti in the first place. With a few exceptions, there seems to be a general acceptance by fellow forum members that GREY-YETI and YETISP2 have posted sincere and honest reports.

These two users started posting very derogatory comments on this forum - both about grey 110 Crd Yetis. One is from Salisbury the other from Dorset. There are numerous very obvious inconsistancies that have been spotted by others and both of the 'posters' have flatly refused to, or have avoided giving any details in response to people who showed concern and/or offered advice. PMs have been totally ignored.

Now we have someone posting two reviews on Whatcar? that again are very hard to believe. The poster shares initials with one of the user names that have appeared on this forum and is referring to a 110Crd Yeti.

I believe that the person, or persons have some sort of axe to grind but have set about it in a very odd way. I am just pleased that they appear to have now stopped messing us about. My only concern is that they may get bored one day and start up their total fiction once more but under another new name.

I for one will be very cautious in accepting the word of someone who has literally just joined the forum and starts of with what appears to be a total horror story. I will also read the reviews on Whatcar? with a huge pinch of salt added!

The Roomster doesn't come with the Crd 140 in any shape or form B)

Again, with the utmost respect for all the posters in this thread, but haven't we been driving around and around this roundabout for ages without finding an exit road?

I thought you'd have run out of diesel by now... but it keeps getting bumped up to the top of the list. ;)

Quite right, as SWMBO pointed out it was a Yeti I drove
