New Octy vRS owner! :D

Featured Replies

Just got back from getting my Octavia vRS and what an awesome car it is!

In black of course! :D

Test drove it and it was all fine etc...was fine on the motorway all the way home but when I was getting to the final bits of residential area I noticed a knock/rattle underneath. Sounds like something not quite bolted on properly. I think its coming from directly underneath the drivers seat but I'm not sure.

Any ideas as to what it could be?

Dunno what the noise could be but congratulations on buying a decent car and in the best colour too

could be either the plastic engine cover underneath or a common problem most have come across (inc myself) which is the heat shield on the catalytic convertor.

i just removed mine completely

After having mine for two weeks a rattle turned into a rear caliper falling off which was scary!

I'll get underneath it properly tomorrow, but I was guessing possibly the heatshield or the drop links. Neither of which are that expensive to fix :)

Just wanted to get an outside opinion first before stating what I thought it might be...

Would look at the heat shield 1st myself as the clips on that can go very easy
