Falken Zeix - 205-55R16 - mostly okay, poor in the wet - relaxed with SWMBO in car, enthusiastic alone

Dunlop Direzza - 215/40R18 - good in dry, pretty good wet. Make a strange noise when half worn!

Pirelli P Zero - 225/40R18 - arrive next week :)

First off....i drive like an absolute weapon, lots of country roads near my house so the car gets driven on the limit all over the show....

Proxies 195/45/16 good in dry dogpoop in wet

Nankang ns2s 215/40/18 as above

452 Falkens Great in dry...squeal a lot! above average in wet

Toyo T1Rs 225/45/17 Total confidence wet or dry Like I stole it :)

GOODYEAR EAGLE F1 - Depends on mood...sometimes chilled and sometimes a little mad. Tyres have always been spot on for me.

Just swapped from Conti sport to VREDESTEIN ULTRAC SESSANTA and defiantly impressed:thumbup:

225/45 zr17 pirelli asymmetrical p-zero's.

Great in dry, very stable in wet especially under hard braking. Lasted well too.

225/40 zr18 Falken ze09. Last well, too harder compound to give good grip, especially in the wet...

Toyo R1R 225/40 zr18's coming soon!!!!

I've never known a tyre this good, they do ware a little quick, but that's just physics!

I'll second F1 Asyms . Quiet, very grippy and responsive, got 270bhp down in the dry in a remapped Focus ST2. Useless in the snow though to the point of being lethal.

Could you tell me all the country roads you travel on please and I'll keep well clear....

225/40 18 Pirelli p Zero nero - mediocre in the wet, good in the dry, wore well but not overly impressed with them seemed to lose grip in a straight line too easily

225/40 18 Good year gsd3 (Original German ones awesome tyres in the wet and dry superb grip and predictable

225/40 18 Goodyear GSD3 ( chinese ones) as above but not quite as grippy...until they got to 4-5mm then they wore petal shaped and made a sound like the wheel bearings were going...would not buy again

225/40 18 Toyo Proxy T1R as good as the German F1's with a bit more feel to the turn in, definately a lsight improvement.

225 40 18 Khumo Ectsa supra ....one word.....AVOID! no grip in wet or dry downright dangerous, even at low speeds, no joke I could easily get the car to slide at 20mph!

225 40 18 Continental sport contact 3....standard fit on my new vrs diesel.....so far so good!

Avon ZV3s - 205/50/17 - Good dry grip, average wear, on the car when I bought it

Pirelli P6000 Powergy - 205/50/17 - Looked like they had been on the car for upwards of 4 years and still had 80% of their tread, replaced in the end because the rubber was perishing quicker than the tread was wearing!

Kumho Ecsta KU31 - 205/50/17 - Good balance between grip and wear rate, cheap too

Hankook Ventus EVO V12 - 205/50/17 - Very good dry grip, not so good wet grip, quite noisy, even after wearing in

They very rarely get thrashed, I rubbed the outside edges of the tread off of the Avons from a couple of handling days and trip to the Ring but the Kumhos and Hankooks have been treated kindly since they've been on.

Toyo Proxes T1-R 205/55R16W all round - Awesome except when road is greasy; Ok when greasy - Wear Ok considering - Quick; normally chasing the vanishing point on the twistys, and there are very few long straights around here.

Dunlop something same size front only- big pants! - Wear pathetic, considering lack of grip.

Michelin something same size rear only - better than the Dunlops, but that's all you can say for them - Wear brilliant since I suspect they were OEM and did 64_000 miles.

TYRE - SIZE - PERSONAL RATING - DRIVING STYLE

Kleber Hydraxer - 205 55 16 - Impressive in dry very impressive in wet - completely varied from trying to get maximum mileage at a constant 60 on the motorway to trying to go round corners on two wheels :D

Goodyear Eagle NCT5 - 205 55 16 - OK good mileage quiet but didn't push them much.

Hankook Evo 12's - 205 50 17 - really liked these, bit noisy (squeal when pushed) but never let go (apart from in the snow - when poked with the loud pedal :D) wear OK

Conti sport contact 2's - 205 50 17 - seem OK but not pushed these either (edit: yet)

Out of interest I weighed one of the P Zeros - 10.4kg - about 1.7kg more than my wheels
