Additives?

Featured Replies

In spending my hard earnt chrimbo vouchers at the local halfords yesterday i invested in a little "one shot diesel treatment" made by redex. only

I use Millers, which I put in every fill.

I notice the difference though, better mpg, go and smoother with it.

I've got some redex myself, I don't always put it in. However, I can't really tell if it makes much of a difference or not. Sometimes I think its all psychological. If it clears muck out of the fuel tank great and keeps the injectors free of crap then great I won't argue at all.

Regards,

Is there really any muck in the fuel tank in modern cars?

Chris

I run with the unicat 4 that you see in the diesel mags. It appears to improve the mpg by 1-2 and there is a lot less soot. It says it improves power but I don't know.

bp 'ultimate diesel' apparently has all the additives you buy in those little bottles, admittedly it is more expensive but have used it in the wifes astra 2.0dti and it is noticeable. it cut down the smoke too.

I normally run on BP Ultimate and Millers diesel power plus. I have run out of Millers and not yet bought any more. I can really tell the difference now. The car sounds more rattly and it is certainly using more fuel. Will purchase some more as soon as possible now.
