Service/Service light...

Featured Replies

I took my Fabia in at 10,000 miles and was told that my car does have a service light that will come on when a service is needed. (Not on all models though!) Mine is 04 same as yours gingervrs! :D

Firstly, the light did not come on at 10,000 however that is because my car was set to KM and not miles!!! Understandable as they are not made here where the metric system is being used!

However I was told that my service light had been set to miles and it would come on at around 22-23K and then i would have to bring it in and not before. ;)

I am however getting a bit worried as its just rolled over 24K.

I will ask on 6th Jan when it is due in the have the wheels swapped from front to cack again after two new tyres. ;)

Hope this helps. :D

Hello mate, i have been to speak to my dealer, and they are happy to do my 10000 5000 late :-) and my warranty is going to be alright. Phew.

My '01 doesn't have a light, but a message which pops up where the trip odometer is saying OIL INSP or something like that. Mine was last serviced at 60300 and the light has popped on now I'm over 69300 so I suspect that you'd better go in and get your car serviced :D Someone with VAG-COM should be able to confirm the service settings I think.....

24k miles! What does you owners manual say about servicing?

Not sure but had an in depth conversation with my dealer and he said it was fine to bring it in when the light comes on. :D

Cheers GVRS, sounds like I'm ok as well then :D

I have not talked to him about the service light but they were very understanding about my situation, they did not even ask why i had gone so far over my 10k

1500 km = 937.5Mi so the service interval warning should come on then before service if set to KM. ( My first octy did that )
