Delivery delays

Featured Replies

Tripped across this site after a general googoo for "skoda delivery delays".

I ordered an octavia estate in june for "estimated delivery" in "mid september". Just found out an hour ago that the "revised date" is week 3 2011!!!! Trawling some of the other message boards it would appear that these "unexpected " delays have been prevalent all this year. One thing ****es me off more than others is this absence of honest explanation from the company via the dealer network. Marks out of ten for customer relations - not very many. Most people order a car because that's the one they want. If the company levelled with you up front most people (and me) would stick with their choice. An analogy is with the airlines lying about the delays to one's flight. All it does is generate ungrumpled customers.

Why can't they see that??

Oh and now I have to pay for a service and an MOT that I wasn't expecting. Grrrr!

Welcome to Briskoda.

Hi and welcome aboard.

Welcome to the site

I had my order pushed out by 4 weeks , this was after being given a date by the dealers, having spoken to SUK ( quoting order No ), I was advised that the factory producing the new Octy & Fabia are running to capacity, as demand is far exceeding supply.

I have seen a few posts where people ( like yourself ) have ordered before me, but are getting delivery dates after my projected build week. It does make me wonder when the dealers actually put orders on the system.

I worked for a car importer ( a Japanese one) & i know for a fact that any dealer placed orders are sent daily overnight to the factory for scheduling ( except Sat & Sun night for the importers i worked @ ).

Did you take the VAT free offer, if so I would hunt around the site & speak to SUK about how the order may be affected.

I called the customer services number and after a totally fruitless discussion got the killer quote about why I couldn't be put through to the head office, "Oh, no-one at head office wants to speak to customers directly!!!!!"

Don't they understand that keeping customers informed keeps customers on side, and that BS-ing customers loses them more than it gains.

When i called "customer services" regarding the same subject, i mentioned that this was avery hot topic on Briskoda and that i knew of at least half a dozen people who had ordered after me and their delivery dates were before mine. I was told quite forcefully that "WE DO NOT RECOGNISE BRISKODA" and they refused to discuss any information referring to Briskoda. So if you do phone them do not mention Briskoda as that is effectively the end of any useful discussion.

Jayeff,

I dont know how you approached them, I just asked for a status update on my order number, When SUK told me the dealer had access to exactly the same info, I just feigned stupidity :D

SUK will only go on info fed back from factory order, I am still convinced that some dealers plie up their orders & place them once a week & not daily, Only the dealer can answer that .

I really want my Octy, so am prepared to wait for it, even if its pushed out, but as long as it is with me before 31 dec, when the VAT offer will dip out

Interesting how all these little snippets come out the further one digs. I think I might ask my man when precisely my order was placed and see what the reaction is. I too really want the Octavia and probably will wait, but I get really cross when I find someone is BS-ing me. I think I have faced my man with some stuff he didn't know so maybe a bit of BS on my part might extract an honest answer.
