Red-x stuff

Featured Replies

Noticed my vRS is still a bit smokey when you put your foot down, which red-x stuff would i need to try out and is it worth it?

I would recommend you try some Millers diesel power Sport 4 (now labled ecomax I belive).

Where abouts would i get this from? And what exacty do i do with it? haha

Cheers

Yes, although that's the old stuff. Given that EcoMax has been around for a while, I'd question how long that's been sitting about the place!

It's also about the same price from Halfords when you factor in postage.

You just add it to your tank before you fill up. I find it works - others have feel differently. I'd say give it a go, and see what you think. Would recommend running it at double-dosage for at least the first two tanks. So four 'shots' per vRS tank of diesel.

cheers wardy. Ill look into it more and probs venture down to halfords! So before i go and fill up just put it in before i leave sort of thing?

It's easiest all round really - or a local motor factors will probably have it, if there's one near you.

They recommend you put it in before filling up, but I'm sure it mixes fine if that's not possible. I just tend to keep the bottle in the boot, and pull to the side of the forecourt first - pop it in the tank, then go and fill up. No hassle.

Definitely the first few tanks you use it drop it in before your fresh fuel. Gives it the best chance of making a difference that way.

See how you get on and report back

Cheers,

Steve

Also try replacing the air filter, Or cleaning it if you've an aftermarket panel filter

also check for boost leaks? :giggle:
