Mysterious Bang...?

After having the rubber duffnuts changed on top of the front shocks, the bang is still there. :swear:

Think I'm gonna try the ball joints next...

Well I waited until the MOT and the tester confirmed a knackered ball joint. Got a new set from Mr Jorily complete with bushes and going to fit them in the morning. Fingers crossed I'll be donk free tomorrow afternoon.

You probably want to make sure before you start that the current ball joint is bolted on - if it's the original riveted one be prepared for the slight possibility of having to remove the whole wishbone and take it to someone with a very big drill ;)

Oh yes, been there before. I just used an angle grinder. N!CE.

This time I got the complete wishbone with ball joints attached and new bushes.

I know they're a little more expensive but it will save time.

yeah, the oe skoda items are rivetted on, i wish i'd put the bolt on type on mine now because of the number of times i've taken the thing apart... generally i replace all the pinch bolts every time i take them out as well as the driveshaft nut, the set including the drivesahft nut is about £13 from a skoda dealer, be careful though because the balljoint and damper pinch bolts have different thread pitches so don't get the nuts mixed up :giggle:
