On two occasions over the last three months the battery symbol has lit up and the display has said alternator problem contact dealer. Turning the ignition off and restarting the engine has removed the warnings and no other problem is apparent. Is this just a glitch or should it be checked out. It's an 08 1.9tdi Scout.

Perhaps the battery is dying or its from the ambient humidity. By the way it is better to check it with a Vag-com.
