Octavia ll dpf removal helllllp!

Featured Replies

I HAVE RECENTLY HAD THE DPF REMOVED ON MY 2007 OCTAVIA VRS 170 TDI. DESPITE BEING REMAPPED IT STILL CONTINUED TO REGENERATE AFTER EVERY FEW HUNDRED MILES OR SO. HAVING TAKEN THE CAR BACK TO THE PEOPLE WHO REMAPPED IT THEY HAVE SAID THAT THE PRESSURE AND TEMPRATURE SENSORS NEED TO BE FITTED WITH RESISTORS SO AS TO PREVENT THE CAR FROM REGENERATING. ONCE THEY DID THIS, IT STOPPED THE REGEN BUT AFTER AROUND 800 MILES THE WARNING LIGHTS ON THE DASH CAME ON, AFTER A COUPLE HUNDRED MILES THE CAR WENT INTO LIMP MODE.

THE RESISTORS THAT WERE FITTED TO THE SENSORS RESULTED IN READINGS OF 1000 DEGREES, IM GUESSING THAT BECAUSE THIS IS A CONSTANT READING THAT THE ECU THOUGHT THERE WAS A PROBLEM AND HENCE SENT IT INTO LIMP MODE, WHAT I NEED HELP WITH IS THE FOLLOWING;

HAS ANYONE HAD THIS PROBLEM AND IF SO DOES ANYONE KNOW WHAT SIZE/TYPE OF RESISTOR HAS TO BE FITTED TO EACH SENSOR SO THAT IT SETS THE PARAMETERS AT THE CORRECT VALUES SO AS TO PREVENT THE ENGINE REGENERATING AND ALSO FROM PICKING UP THAT THERE IS A FAULT. I HAVE NOW FITTED 680ohms RESISTORS TO BOTH THE PRESSURE AND TEMPRATURE SENSORS BUT I HAVE ONLY DONE A COUPLE OF MILES IN THE CAR SINCE FITTING THESE.

ALSO DOES ANYONE KNOW WHY THE CAR WOULD HAVE DRIVEN SO MANY MILES BEFORE SUCH WARNING LIGHTS CAME ON?

Who did the remap, there are only 2 tuners that I am aware of that can totally map out the DPF. Fitting resistors will not solve the issue, it sounds like all you have had done is a generic remap which is no good when it comes to dpf removal.

I have heard from a couple of different people that the risitors would work if the correct ones are fitted?

i think you need to talk to someone who knows what there doing, shark performance seem to come up alot on here with rave reviews, im planning on getting my new pd140 done real soon and they will be getting my business.

JBS Autodesigns and Shark Performance are the only 2 that I am aware of that can totally map out the DPF so the ECU ignores it totally.

From what I know. A decent tuner has to widen the parameters so the values that the ecu looks for in order to regen is never reached.

Custom Code/JBS or Oscarli are the people to see although i have heard that Shark are also on the case of the pesky DPF now aswell

Try Jabba as well, I know they can do dpf removal & remap on some Octys ;)

Any tuner with decent tools can do DPF. ecusafe even gives you a simple tick-box "remove dpf" ;)

neo8496 - who did this crappy map for you?
