Centre armrest for Octy vrs MK1

Featured Replies

Hey

Sorry if this has been covered a million times before but i`m desperate for a centre armrest for when i`m covering longer journeys in the Octy. I frequently have to cover journeys of over 2 hours and could idealy do with an armrest for my left arm. The door card is perfectly designed for my right arm :).

I have found this on ebay and was just wanting to know if anyone had bought it, and what they thought of it?

If anybody has any other ideas they would be gratefully recieved.

All the best

Phil.

i've got a black leather one in my vrs from a mk4 golf. all you need is the plastic covers from your skoda dealer and the alloy mounting foot aswell otherwise the golf one needs modifying to fit the octavia

Not too sure on the way it fits, looks like it screws to the plastic centre consel, with only 4 screws :wonder: The plastic is not designed for it and i personally don't think it would last long plus when you go to sell the car it will have 4 holes.

You're better off getting one off a golf or bora as the octy one is rare, The proper vag one screws into metal which is more solid

Thanks for the replys it`s a great help, i`d better keep my eye out for a golf/bora one around and get the other bits snapped up :)

Just a bit of advice. I have the standard armrest in my car and one great feature is the ability to tilt the front of the armrest down, below the horizontal to make it more comfortable. Just depends on how tall you are. I am 6' 1", with long arms.

I want to fit an armrest as well. However does this not block/cover the lighter and cupholder?

many thanks

The short answer is it does block them, but the VW & Skoda ones can be raised to beyond vertical so it sits between the seat backs to access the socket & holder.

I never use the cup holder, but you can easily use a sat nav charger in the socket with the arm rest down (although you do need to raise it to plug the charger in).

EDIT: A an aside, the L&K models came with an armrest (and possible elegance trims too). There must be plenty of these in scrap yards now... I got mine from www.skospares.com

Elegances have armrests as standard kit.

would still require mods to the metal foot and the octavia plastic covers to fit correctly,

although its not it's not a bad price even with the £32.99 p&p costs :giggle: for a new rest! (seen second hand original golf leather ones selling for upto £125 on various sites)

Ouch for the postage costs :giggle:

I thought ebay had stopped people doing that?

It's from hong kong lol, I think that's why it's high?

theirs a few just type in bora armrest;)

I had not spotted the location of the item. Most of the things I have bought recently from China, etc have been free delivery :-)

Exactly right, I did this in my last one, ebay OEM MK4 armrest and the plastic covers from Skoda, think they were around £14 I think.

Don't touch the replica's, they don't fit, I bought one first and it looks proper crap and just didn't fit, so I literally binned it and bought the real thing.
