tyre pressure monitor

Featured Replies

How do they work?

Sounds like a dumb question but i went to the shop before and felt the car pulling, pulled in and saw that my front passenger tyre was flat.

Should the light have come on?

i checked my tyres about week and half ago and re-set by pressing and keeping hold of the button.

Yeah it really should have, mine has triggered before when my tyre pressure has only dropped 5 PSI!

Trip to the dealer to check i think

No they only work on the move, they are part of the ABS , so measure radius of tyre , when pressure goes down the circumference is less so triggers warning.Sometimes if the pressure is not too far out it will trigger when going at motorway speeds as distance traveled by tyre is greater and faster  Also when they are all mended check pressures aer identical on each axle , then press reset button

Yeah, have to be moving and about a 3-5psi drop should make enough of a difference, so that the ESP picks it up. Certainly did on mine a couple of months ago. it will also need to have covered sufficient distance too
