Do it Gary!

Your SE was awesome, and one of the reasons I purchased mine

Thanks, its allways good to hear things like that, i still have a pile of bits which never made it onto my se, which will certainly come in handy for my next fabia, should i get one of course

Combi vRS No 4? The sleepiest? I've always liked the idea of getting some 16" steels banded and popping on some superb wheels trims.. hehe!

Could always find a 1.9tdi saloon for a nice conversion ;) Not seen anyone do anything serious with a saloon yet. It must be the shell with the best weight distribution?

If moneys not an issue do it... but I guess it does raise the question of what else you could have created? Super Superb?

Edited by Rob.

I'd do a Combi if I were to have one again.

On the head issue, I wonder if there's anyway of getting the 2.0 16v PD140/170 lump in there? Space constraints?

Nope no chance, as the 2.0 was a complete new engine rsther than a re hash of the 1.9, so the head is non compatable unfortunatly, i have been thinking about a saloon tho, fugly car but it would be very funny

The 1st Fabia vRS Saloon?

Yep, that's what I mean - complete engine swap

Know the head wouldn't swap :)

The poor little saloon isn't that bad looking.. they've just either not been modded at all or have been over cooked and smotherd in chrome.

I say.. vRS saloon.. Stripped TOCA style, or complete sleeper... No spiders or even a Leon Splitter!

I'm pretty sure you could very easily claim quickest Fabia Saloon in the UK by just getting a map.. lol.. so with what your planning it could be unique forever ;)

Nice n cheap..

Looking at saloons for sale.. can't find any tdi's.. did they not do em? I know the saloons options were limited.. but really, no tdi?

Can ya mod an SDi up high.. or at least do an easy switch to an ASZ/BLT?

Having been in your old SE Gary, I say a big Hell Yes!! To you getting another Fabia and sorting it properly ;-)

I'll be lurking and watching your progress too :-p

I've thought about doing a saloon a few times, would have to be an sdi tho as the conversion to vrs would be easier, coplete granny spec, biege interior, 16" steels with trims, vrs engine shooting for 300 bhp, peloquin diff, kw coilovers and 312 brakes, sounds like a plan for upsetting folk on track, oh and a box of tissues with a knitted cover on the rear shelf!!!!

then if your going to the bother of transplant why not

a 1.8t 20v

or maybe a new 1.4 tsi...

not so economical i know but more fun surely!

In terms of conversions the 1.8t is not an easy option into a fabia, the asz/blt into an sdi is relativly simple, i have only just sold a 225bhp apx coded tt engine too,i just like the idea of fast diesels, i wouldn't be doing it for out and out speed, or ultimate handling, i would be doing it simply because i can!!!!! And because i don't really need another car that does 20mpg either lol

performance derv = decent economy when you need it, and if you do as you say and give it the 'works' performance wise im sure you'll be surprising some big power petrol boys.... and i dont think they will like it..... emoticon-0136-giggle.gif ....
