light pressure...you mean press/pull it until the first catch/slot (if the second catch/slot is the one touch feature)

edit: do i do this using the driver's side or passenger side switch?

Edited by fabia55

i tried it today using both the driver and passenger side switch on both fullly hold and pull and first catch all the way down and all the way up[, I couldn't hear any clicking sounds no matter how long i had the switch press or pulled.

anyway, this problem has only occurred about 2 times since i had the car and has not had the problem for 3 months now.

Hello mate, yes...it sounds like you did the right thing. Hold the button all the way up or down depending which way you are going with the window. When the window has fully opened keep the pressure on the button until you hear the clicks, do not let up on the pressure or you must start again. The clicks can be hard to hear. It's a safety ratchet mechanism to prevent the motor overloading and normally you hold the button for 3 clicks. This give the electronics time to set the window travel parameters for that up or down sweep that you have just carried out. Your manual will tell you for sure how many clicks to listen for. The window button to use is the button you last used that caused the problem on a particular window. So if the problem occurred on the button on the drivers door side, then use that button, and vice versa if it was the other door button where you experienced the problem. It's the electronics for that particular button that needs resetting, even though the window may operate fine on the other door button. Like I say, on some cars the clicks are hard to hear so listen very carefully as you may miss them. I would do this with the engine running and that also makes the clicks harder to hearemoticon-0148-yes.gif

I have no idea why this double posted. I have deleted the text but cannot remove this message.
